Here To Answer The Dos & Don'ts

How long will I have the dumpster?

Each dumpster is sent to stay for about two weeks. After those two weeks, their will be an additional daily charge for each day after those two weeks.

What if I need a toilet clean out?

Just give us a call! We have multiple pump trucks to clean and service your portable toilets for your project.

Will the dumpster damage my property?

Our drivers are very skilled at what they do. Just be sure to have a large enough spot in mind for where you would like the dumpster to be placed. Make sure to have the proper dimensions so that you can have a large enough space cleared out for the workers to drop it off. It needs to be a flat and hard surface big enough to fit the dumpster’s footprint.

Our 15 and 20-yard dumpsters’ footprint measures 8ft x 14ft and our 30 and 40-yard dumpsters’ footprint measures 8ft x 22ft. If you choose to rent the 40-yard dumpster, we ask that you provide a space double the size of the footprint just because of how our drivers will have to drop it off.

How many toilets will I need?

Our portable toilets can service a variety of projects and events. We advise to get an approximate number of how many people may be using the toilets. Our toilets are equipped to take on about 60 uses before they need to be serviced. For any additional information on our toilets, please click the link below.

What can go into a dumpster?

Majority of a renovation projects can go into our dumpsters. However, there are items and objects that are hazardous to waste drop offs such as, batteries, flammables, oils, and explosives.

Additionally, when disposing of concrete from a project you can only fill the dumpster half way due to the weight of concrete.

How do I prevent a dumpster fire?

Although, dumpster fires aren’t very common, there is still the chance of one occurring. If one does ignite, DO NOT attempt to put it out yourself and call 911 to assist you. However, there are a number of ways to prevent this danger from happening.

  1. Have a plan to place your dumpster far enough away from any building or structure where a potential fire could spread.
  2. Do not allow anyone to smoke near the dumpster to prevent any ignition of possible flammable materials.
  3. If anyone does smoke, make sure to put the cigarette out away from the dumpster to ensure no embers make its way into the roll off.
  4. Put signage near the dumpster stating “no flammable items” are allowed inside the dumpster and make sure your helpers or construction crew are well aware of this rule.
  5. Have a plan in place as to how you wish to handle flammable waste if any is found or needed to be disposed of.

What if I need a dumpster switch out?

If a switch is needed within the time of your project, a new dumpster can be delivered. But, don’t wait until you’ve reached the fill line. Calling before you reach the fill line gives you room to keep working until we get your empty one to you. However, when needing a switch out an additional fee is implemented.

Does someone have to be present at delivery & pickup?

It is preferred that someone is present at both drop off and pick up of the equipment whether it be toilets or a dumpster.

How do I open my dumpster?

There are two different styles of locks on our roll off dumpsters. With a latch lock, you are going to unhook the latch safety pin to remove the safety chain. Then, you are going to raise the level to pull the door open. Finally, you are going to attach the safety chain to the opposite side of the dumpster and secure the chain to the door to prevent any unnecessary accidents from occuring.

The other style of lock is a ratchet lock. With this style of lock, you are going to first unhook the safety chain and flip the ratchet’s switch. Next, you are going to loosen the ratchet and detach the chain. Lastly, you are going to pull the door open and use the safety chain to secure the door to the opposite side of the dumpster to help prevent any accidents.

What size dumpster is right for my project?

Our dumpsters start at 15 yard and reach to 40 yards. Depending on the size of your project and the amount of trash it will produce should give you an idea of what you’re looking for. If you need additional help, just give us a call.

How do I load my dumpster?

Once you have the dumpster door open and properly latched, you can simply walk through the door with your waste or debris and place it in the furthest corner of the roll off. Another way to load it would be to toss the trash over the side of the dumpster if you wish to make fewer trips.

Just be sure that the weight inside the dumpster is evenly distributed. If one side is heavier than the other, this can become a safety issue. This would also not allow our truck drivers to properly transfer your dumpster to the landfill during a swap out or pickup due to the hazard of it potentially tipping over during a sharp turn if the weight is not evenly distributed throughout the roll off dumpster.

How can I prepare for my dumpster delivery?

We recommend that there be someone present at the time of delivery and pickup simply because if there is a locked gate or a blocked road, our driver will be unable to deliver your dumpster to you. If our driver attempts to deliver your dumpster and there is some type of obstruction or locked gate and they are unable to contact you to get through, then a dry run fee may be applied.
